Their public picture of love, sharing glimpses of their adoration over social media, won many others over. Because of Karan’s unrivaled love and respect, Bipasha was able to fully embrace their special adventure. “I feel I am lucky, as I live only for love. And no man has given me more love and respect than Karan. I might not be looking for the same thing in marriage, like others do. I have my own checklist, and I have ticked my boxes accordingly,” Basu had said this in a conversation.
The Magical Moment of Proposal
“There is so much that happens in your life. You realise what you need to change and that comes when you truly realise what you want and what makes you happy. She made me realise that in many ways. And I kept on falling in love with her over and over again,”said Karan revealing his feelings for Basu. Only a few months into their relationship, Karan made the crucial choice to pop the question to Basu, which is evidence of their deepening love. The 38-year-old decided to pop the question to Basu in December 2015 while on a New Year’s vacation to Thailand, tying the knot in an enduring moment of passion. “We were in Koh Samui, it was December 31 and the sky was lit with fireworks. I was carrying the ring with me and something told me that this is the right time. So, while she was capturing the fireworks on video, I took the opportunity and gave her the ring,” disclosed Grover.

The Wedding Celebrating Love and Tradition
The epic finale of Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover’s love story took place on April 30. The wedding ceremonies were woven within the intricate web of Bengali customs, paying homage to Basu’s Bengali roots. Among the holy rites was the charming Saat Paak ceremony, in which the bride circled the groom seven times on a wooden seat bedecked with betel leaves, borne by her brothers, before they joined him for the holy pheras. With a splash of contemporary style incorporated into the ageless customs, the groom made an unforgettable entrance, gliding on a Segway amid a joyful procession of family, friends, and the upbeat beats of the dhol. Fondly recalling the joyous occasion Basu said, “I felt no jitters absolutely; in fact, I had the best time of my life during those two days of the wedding. My mom said that I was like a hooligan of a bride.”
For the crucial ensemble, Bipasha Basu went to friend and fashion designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The bride donned a crimson lehenga that he lavishly adorned, which included the couturier’s iconic blouse, the Bipasha. Naturally, the actor served as the inspiration for his all-time best-seller design when it came to a suggested dance scene for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan. Recalling the curation, Mukherjee says, “When Bipasha was getting married, she came to the store, looked at the blouse and gushed: ‘This blouse has my name written all over it.’ I smiled and said: ‘Quite literally’.” He went on to add that dressing Basu on her wedding day was a “sentimental” occasion. “To add to that, we are both Bengalis. And she was very sure she wanted to be a Bengali bride in ‘Sabyasachi Red.’ (Bipasha) did all us Bengalis proud. She wore Chandan and a shola mukut, she covered her face with betel leaf. This is what I love about Indian weddings. As a bride, on the day of your wedding you always come home, ” said Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Whereas, the groom opted for a white bandhgala with dhoti pants.
